Time is ticking away. Just 18 days until we fly out. We dodged the "move over" offer from Princess. The ship is oversold and they came a looking for anyone willing to give up balcony cabins in exchange for a free 30 day cruise. Would have jumped at it if there were more sailings to Antarctica. But with the heavy fuel ban imposed by the U.N., 2011 is the last season for the large ships to cruise the waters of Antarctica.
We will be gone a total of 25 days. The first leg of the journey is 5 days pre-cruise in Argentina. We arrive in Buenos Aires the morning of Jan. 5 and immediately fly to Iguazu Falls. This is a return trip for Carlos and me. We have been to Iguazu about 5 times and it is always spectacular. But we have only seen it from the Brazilian side. I am hoping to post some nice photos from Iguazu.
After 2 days, we fly back to Buenos Aires and tour the city and environs. This includes a tango show - spectator, not participant!!
We board the ship and off we go for 17 days. Finally we spend 2 days in Chile before flying home on Jan. 28.
I am hoping to post a map of our cruise itinerary. More to follow as we get closer to departure date.
